Artoo is a hot new social venture focused on field staff automation

Artoo is an interesting social enterprise start-up that has caught our attention recently. Here is a excerpt from Artoo’s website:

Artoo’s holistic software solution designed for field staff takes the entire process of data collection and workflows online. It will do away with the back and forth of paper, avoid innumerable delays, and drastically reduce expenses. We believe our framework will revolutionize the bottom of the pyramid by enabling field agents to operate remotely and helping distributed enterprises to centralize their operations.

The spark was lit when one of Artoo’s co-founders, Sameer Segal was interning at . The platform has immense potential in helping organizations to improve their last mile service delivery with the help of cutting-edge technology. Keeping the field level labor force fully connected is not a revolutionary idea, but certainly new in the social sector where much of the business is still conducted using pen and paper.

We also think the technology for development space is really heating up in India. The sector has moved on significantly since the early days of computer kiosks with dial-up connections. We hope to see many more innovations that leverage mobile application platforms to improve social service delivery and bridge the last mile.
