Piramal Prize 2010 to enable innovative ideas in combating disease

The Piramal Foundation has partnered with the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad to offer the “Piramal Prize 2010” – to enable bold entrepreneurial ideas with potential to reduce the burden of disease across India. The two winners will receive prize money equal to Rs. 10,000,000 each!

The prize will be done in two categories: emerging ventures and established ventures. According to the organizers,

Emerging Ventures – Disruptive ventures in existence for less than three years.  Entries may be in the start up/ idea/ growth stages, ideally with a prototype/pilot project completed or underway.

Established Organizations – For Enterprises with a proven ability to reduce the burden of disease.  Nominees may be not-for-profit or for-profit, but should present measurable impact on healthcare in large scale. For this category, one can nominate an organization that one thinks has done good work in reducing the burden of disease.
